Portugal Railway Summit 2021

As part of its annual tradition, the PFP - Portuguese Railway Platform Association held its Portugal Railway Summit event on February 2nd and 3rd, 2021. The event aimed to discuss ideas, exchange experiences, and present new visions of innovation for the entire Railway Sector. Due to the pandemic situation, it was exclusively a virtual event.

This year's summit held special significance as it coincided with the European Year of Rail, with high expectations regarding announced investments and EU directives for the future development of railways in Europe.

Five thematic modules were presented over the two days of the event:

• Ecosystems
• Technological Challenges
• International Railway Clusters
• The Future of Railways

Throughout the event, attendees could visit the digital exhibition and schedule B2B meetings.

Portugal Railway Summit was a forum to discuss current trends in the railway sector, such as the topics presented, the challenges for mobility in 2030, defined by ERRAC, and the Strategic Railway Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA): Digitalization, Automation, New Mobility Solutions, Greener and More Sustainable Mobility.
